EGR Delete

WHAT IS EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION (EGR) SYSTEM ?
The exhaust gas recirculation or EGR system is one of several vehicle emission control systems. It helps reduce the amount of nitrogen oxides (NOx) in the exhaust gases. Nitrogen oxides are normally formed in the process of combustion in the engine cylinders. However, their formation increases dramatically at higher combustion temperatures. Higher combustion temperatures are also harmful to the engine.

One of the effects caused by high combustion temperatures is a pre-ignition or detonation, when the air / fuel mixture ignites in the cylinders not from the spark, the detonation adds strain on engine components. Prolonged detonation can damage the valves, pistons and other parts. A turbocharger also fails sooner when exposed to excessive heat.

The EGR system reduces the combustion temperature by diverting a small portion of the exhaust gases back into the intake manifold.

WHY DO YOU NEED TO REMOVE IT ?
Deactivation of egr system alone does not increase engine performance. However, the failure of the egr system adversely affects engine performance. EGR system is constantly exposed to exhaust gas due to the working principle. Over time, the exhaust gas causes soot to accumulate in the egr valve and pipes. EGR valve that can not open or close completely begins leaking air pressure from the intake manifold and reduces engine performance.

The EGR system can be maintained by removing and cleaning the parts contained. But mostly this is not a permanent solution. Therefore, the vehicle owners can think to replace egr system with brand new one, but usually, the costs are seen as major expense. So they think to have their second option which is exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system removal. Because this costs less.

HOW TO HAVE EGR REMOVAL ?
EGR system removal / delete consists of two stages. The first is deactivating system mechanically. Stopping the flow through egr pipes is the easiest way to disabling. Therefore, a blanking tap is placed at the inlet or outlet of the egr pipes.

The second stage is to deactivating egr system via engine control unit. This is achieved by remapping process.

Here, at Performance 35, we have all solutions for your EGR system failures and allow you to get rid of your problem permanently with minimum costs by re-optimizing all maps related to EGR system.
