WHAT IS DIESEL PARTICULATE FILTER ?
Simply put, DPF is a filter which is fitted to a diesel fuel car to capture and store the exhaust fumes that would otherwise be pumped out into atmosphere. DPFs have been fitted to diesel cars as standard since 2009, when the Euro 5 exhaust emissions legislation was brought in to help lower car CO2 emissions.
As the gases pass through the filter, the DPF begin to get clogged with the soot that it has trapped (Soot is a by-product of incomplete combustion - when the mixture of air and fuel that powers the engine fails to completely ignite). As the temperature of the exhaust gets higher, the residue heats up and turns to ash which is then expelled. This is called regeneration. However this will only happen when you travel at a speed greater that 40 mph or when the engine raises the exhaust temperature artifically every 300 miles.
WHY DO YOU NEED TO REMOVE IT ?
The DPF system is removed for two different reasons. The first is that the costs arising from the renewal of the DPF, which has a permanent failure, are found to be high by the vehicle owners. Although removing dpf is known as illegal, these major expenses cause the people do this operation. And second is that the DPF system creates disadvantages in engine modification. Because it has got small chambers inside, the exhaust gas can not pass through this filter readily, when the engine is modified, so limiters do not allow engine gains more performance
HOW TO REMOVE DPF ?
The main purpose of diesel particulate filter (DPF) removal for both reasons is to relieve the exhaust gas passage. Mechanically, this is achieved either by evacuating the dpf or replacing it with a dpf-free exhaust pipe. Final step to complete diesel particulate filter (DPF) removal is disabling hardware from the engine control unit (ECU). This is done by the remapping process. While disabling the DPF system, engine torque maps are also optimized according to new exhaust pressure values.
Here, at Performance 35, we have all solutions for your diesel particulate filter (DPF) failures and allow you to get rid of your problem permanently with minimum costs by re-optimizing all maps related to diesel particulate filter system.
